This eProgramme is designed to provide the Level 2 – Award in Introduction to Business Improvement management qualification, as awarded by the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM). The programme consists of 7 Units. Each Unit consists of eBriefings (for self-study) and customized workshops dependent upon corporate client requirements.


This Level 2 Award aims to give practising team or cell leaders the foundation for their formal development, and in particular to assist participants in gaining the basic knowledge of business improvement techniques required by a team or cell leader and to develop basic team leading and business improvement skills. Assessment is by a Business Improvement Assignment which enables a candidate to evaluate current practices within a section of an organisation, and indicate areas for improvement. Candidates are required to identify a possible improvement using the knowledge and skills acquired on the programme. A detailed ‘Candidate Briefing’ is attached to the eProgramme. A minimum of 34 hours are required. However to provide a solid foundation of underpinning knowledge the programme contains 51 online learning hours. Candidates need to demonstrate that they meet the assessment criteria indicated covering these sections:


  • M2.18 Business Improvement Techniques
  • M2.23 Achieving Objectives in the workplace
  • M2.24 Using information for action in the workplace
  • M2.25 Understanding Health & Safety in the workplace
  • M2.26 Understanding methods of communicating in the workplace
  • M2.27 Satisfying customer requirements
  • M2.28 Understanding effective team working


Qualification :The situation – approximately 175 words Business Improvement – approximately 400 words Implementation – approximately 400 words It is for the corporate client, and/or the individual, and the trainer to agree upon the extent of tutor support services required, when booking this course. We offer a wide range of both accredited and non-accredited courses which can be accommodated both directly as e-learning or a blended approach.
