TUNGSTEN INERT GAS WELDING (TIG/TAG)
Duration : 1 Week per Course (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced)

- Introduction to the TIG/TAG process (video), to include; The welding circuit (current types: AC & DC), High Frequency control, plant and ancillary equipment, shielding gases (active and inert), maintenance of welding equipment and relevant health and safety
- Identification and adjustment of welding set controls
- Tungsten types and preparation
- Introduction to welding consumables
- Selection of shielding gas and flow rates
- Characteristics of a good weld
- Simple diagnosis of weld defects and corrective action
- Tutored welding practice
Qualification : All successful candidates upon completion will receive the Centre Certificated Certificate of Attendance. Intermediate will include BS 4872 Test and the advanced course includes the ASME IX/ BS EN287/ISO 9606 Test
For Your Information : Brinsworth Training has the flexibility to facilitate your requirements as an organisation or individual. Completion of this course should provide you with enough knowledge and experience to find work as a basic Please bring pen and paper and wear/bring with you PPE (personal protective equipment) protective clothing, eye wear, gloves etc and steel toecap boots for the workshop activities. Brinsworth can supply if needed hats, gloves and glasses
This course is based at our main engineering training facility, located just off the M1 J34 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Ideally situated for access from Barnsley, Sheffield, Doncaster or Rotherham.
