This course is designed to give candidates knowledge and sufficient practice to enable them to build and maintain basic pipe work competently and safely. This course is aimed at anyone wanting to take up a career in plumbing; gas fitting; pipe fitting, and the utilities industry. Covering copper pipe, plastic pipe work, and steel pipe work, each section will be explained and demonstrated, then you will complete each task including Copper, Soldering joints; bending by hand; bending with hand bender, fitting Compression joints, fitting valves etc, Pressure testing plastic, bending plastic pipe; fitting valves; isolator; ball, gate. Pressure testing Steel, Cutting threads; fitting flange’s; making gaskets; fitting valves; Pressure testing etc.

• Induction
• Safe working practices and regulations
• Pipe work preparation, assembly tools and equipment over
• Pipe work colour coding
• Pipe work fittings; (ferrous, non ferrous, non metallic, soft & hard soldered, screwed compression)
• Valves, taps and cocks used in pipe work installations
• Fault diagnosis and questions

Qualification : All successful candidates upon completion will receive the Certificate of Competence N.V.Q. identifying training covered

For Your Information : Brinsworth Training has the flexibility to facilitate your requirements as an organisation or individual Please bring pen and paper and wear/bring with you PPE (personal protective equipment) protective clothing, eye wear, gloves etc and steel toecap boots for the workshop activities. Brinsworth can supply if needed hats, gloves and glasses

This course is based at our main engineering training facility, located just off the M1 J34 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Ideally situated for access from Barnsley, Sheffield, Doncaster or Rotherham.
