MANUAL METAL ARC WELDING (MMA)
Duration : 1 Week per Course (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced)

- Introduction to the MMA process (video), to include; The welding circuit (current types: AC & DC), plant and ancillary equipment, maintenance of welding equipment and relevant health and safety
- Identification of welding set controls
- Control adjustment for optimum results
- Selection and adjustment of amperage and O.C.V.
- Welding consumables and their applications
- Characteristics of a good weld
- Diagnosis of faults and corrective action
- Equipment maintenance
- Tutored welding practice
Qualification : All successful candidates upon completion will receive the Centre Certificated Certificate of Attendance. Intermediate will include BS 4872 Test and the advanced course includes the ASME IX/ BS EN287/ISO 9606 Test
For Your Information : Brinsworth Training has the flexibility to facilitate your requirements as an organisation or individual Please bring pen and paper and wear/bring with you PPE (personal protective equipment) protective clothing, eye wear, gloves etc and steel toecap boots for the workshop activities. Brinsworth can supply if needed hats, gloves and glasses
This course is based at our main engineering training facility, located just off the M1 J34 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Ideally situated for access from Barnsley, Sheffield, Doncaster or Rotherham.

The course would be adapted to cover client specific requirements including material grades and supply forms, joint configurations and welding positions.
