•Access equipment - tripods, winches, safety harnesses
•Escape breathing apparatus - hoods & masks
•Accident/emergency procedures & self rescue
•Gas detection
Objectives
On completion of the course, delegates shall be competent in:-
•Understanding current legislation regarding confined space entry
•Recognising types of confined spaces & their associated hazards
•Organising & implementing appropriate accident & emergency procedures
•The safe use & maintenance of escape breathing apparatus
Training Method
A highly participative hands on course with practical exercises to compliment the classroom theory session.
Delegates are taught how to work as a team when effecting a confined space entry.
Each delegate has the use of his/her own escape set for the duration of the course.
Entry into the confined space is shaft entry with the aid of tripod, winch, fall arrest harness and teamwork. Not Simple side vessel entry.
Safety Equipment
All delegates should have available & bring with them the following safety equipment.
•Safety shoes / boots
•Overalls
•Gloves
•Hardhat
Qualification :All successful candidates upon completion will receive an identity card of Competence in Confined Spaces identifying training covered for use onsite
For Your Information :Courses run each Friday, cost is £210+VAT per person.
This course is based at our main engineering training facility, located just off the M1 J34 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Ideally situated for access from Barnsley, Sheffield, Doncaster or Rotherham.

This course is designed to the nationally recognised standards and in accordance with the Confined Spaces Approved Code of Practice. Since January 2004, these standards apply to all people working at or in confined spaces, examples include roof space, rooms with only one exit, Mining industries, Sub-Stations, all the utilities industry and where any area can be closed off. All tutors have the knowledge and experience, to ensure delegates gain quality experience within a safe, controlled environment in our purpose built training facilities with a labyrinth of situations allow realistic Confined Spaces training, No previous experience is required for this course.
