This course has been designed to bring an awareness of the dangers that still prevail and how we can best assess the risk and formulate the best measures of control for all employees in their place of work, especially those involved in the refurbishment, repair or maintenance of buildings. You will be taught Types & Classifications, where Asbestos can be found, when it is dangerous and the health effects surrounding Asbestos.

• Determining Factors, Exposure, Lifestyle and Age
• How to Avoid Exposure, Locations, PPE, Risk Assessment, Training and Safe Working Practices
• Reporting Procedures & Disposal
• Working with the HSE and Environmental Agencies
• Planning the work, including work Permits, Licensing and Spills

Qualification : All successful candidates upon completion will receive the Centre Certificate of Competence in Asbestos Awareness identifying training covered Please bring pen and paper and the appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) i.e. overalls, safety hats, gloves and protective footwear

For Your Information :Courses are run each Wednesday, cost is £100+VAT per person.

This course is based at our main engineering training facility, located just off the M1 J34 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Ideally situated for access from Barnsley, Sheffield, Doncaster or Rotherham.
