The course is nationally accredited, and directed at anyone involved in the design, construction and inspection and testing of electrical systems for electrically competent candidates and installers who have to comply with BS 7671: 2008 for example, selecting sizes of cable or types of fuses and circuit breakers. The course is to ensure an understanding of the scope and effect that the 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations implement, along with a brief overview of the Electricity at Work Regulations covering their statutory duties, which is used as a standard against which all electrical installations must comply. It also falls within the scope of PART P as defined by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). "All electricians are deemed as competent once they hold this qualification". This is also a recognised qualification for companies seeking to recruit electricians.

Entry Requirements:

 

There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking this qualification. However, centres must ensure that candidates have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification. It is expected that candidates will have basic knowledge of electrical science.

 


This course is based at our main engineering training facility, located just off the M1 J34 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Ideally situated for access from Barnsley, Sheffield, Doncaster or Rotherham.
